Sandra and I both found this tiny project to be rather fiddly. Mine is stitched on 27ct linen which being quite a large weave is prone to fraying so when it came to turning him inside out that became a bit of a problem. However, he survived and is happily sitting on his perch now with his strawberry in his mouth after a 'cook' on the microwave after I sprayed some Parisienne essence on him to age him a bit. I also added a rusty pin.
I recently was able to spend a day with my friend Mary (Melbourne) who I have often spoken about and shown some of the beautiful gifts and cards she has made for me. We enjoyed a day visiting my LNS and had a lovely lunch although silly me forgot to take a photo. Thanks for taking time out to spend the day with me Mary :) Now I am counting down the days until I get to meet my other Internet stitching friend Sandra (UK). How wonderful it will be to finally meet the person face to face with whom I have become such good friends. We will have so much to talk about.
I will remember the camera this time.
Glad our birds are done and out of the way - yet another learning experience. Looking forward to our new start today. The video was really sweet.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for you and Sandra to meet - I hope you have a wonderful time. Are you going there or is she coming here?? Enquiring minds want to know.....lol
ReplyDeleteI also LOVE your latest birds, I have that pattern but haven't made it yet.
The birds are just delightful. What a clever idea to afix them to the old oil cans - love them!
ReplyDeleteI congratulate both of you for your wonderful finishes. I attempted this earlier this year and the head of mine frayed! A disappointment to be sure, but I learned what not to do and will try it again.
ReplyDeleteBoth are perfect finishes!!
Your bird is so cute! Love it.
ReplyDeleteGlad your puppy is doing well too :-). Thanks for cute video.
Both birds are lovely, congratulations to you both
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to both of you! I can't wait to see what the two of you cook up next. ;)
ReplyDeleteBoth great projects you've done. How wonderful that you'll get the chance to meet Sandra in person. I'm sure you'll thoroughly enjoy it.
