I recently finished this.
It is Praiseworthy Stitches ~ Sweet Baby Sampler~ for my sweet baby Grand-daughter.
This really took me much longer than it should have as I did a lot of colour changing which to be honest I found to be a bit of a struggle. It is not that easy to try and get colours just right and I have to say I did a fair amount of unpicking. I am happy with the results now though and I hope when little Miss B grows up she will like it too.
I was looking after my two little ones the other day and I just love the honesty and innocence of the things they say. Miss Milly who is three told me "Nana you have wrinkly cheeks don't you!"
~Pam Brown
You just have to smile at the things that little children say! Your sampler is gorgeous! Too bad about the unpicking, but I think that's a hazard of having a lot of color changes in a design. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she said you have wrinkly CHECKS! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing that beautiful little sampler.
ReplyDeleteOoops, Thanks for pointing out my typo JackDaddy but it definitely was cheeks and not checks!!
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet - the things little kids say! Wrinkles are where we show the wisdom earned!
ReplyDeleteI love the sampler you stitched! It's very sweet and the colours are lovely!
The sampler turned out lovely, love the color choices. I also love the God and Dog video.

ReplyDeleteBeing a grandmother is unlike any other love you will feel in your lifetime. Before I became a grandmother I thought I loved my sons. After the first grandchild was placed in my arms I realized that all of the love I thought I had felt up until that moment was only a dress rehearsal and that now I knew - I knew love in its purest and most raw form and that my life would never be the same again.
ReplyDeleteBrenna's sampler is beautiful Chrissie and well worth all the effort I know it took you. Glad you have wrinkly cheeks too, we'll make a right pair of old wrinklies next month.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet sampler for your grandchild. I'm sure she'll appreciate it as she grows up. Little ones do say the funniest things. Their innocence is worth bottling.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful treasure for your granddaughter - I am sure she will treasure it always especially because you made it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely birth sampler! And I so look forward to hearing those things coming from my first grandchild, so sweet!
ReplyDeleteLoved the saying at the bottom too!
What a sweet birth sampler, Chrissie! It's wonderful. I'm sure she'll treasure it.
ReplyDeleteHow precious! Love your frame and mat choices too! Congrats on another beautiful finish!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful project! I love the quote on your post too. . . all-wise and prehistoric, LOL. Karen
