~ Remember Me ~

My post heading is very apt today as it has certainly been a while since I have posted much.  I am still around and still creating although not too much in the way of stitching but some cards and mini albums.

You wouldn't believe how long it has taken me to finally finish this tiny little thing I am about to show you today....simply ages!!  Why?? I don't know, I had all sorts of dramas with it making mistake after mistake... I know, you couldn't get much more simple than this but actually, this one was my second attempt, the first one, just when I thought I was cruising along nicely  I found I  had made a mistake with my counting and the stitching  was way too fine to try and unpick so it was easier to just start over.  Does that ever happen to you or is it just me??

Anyway, today was the day to finally get it finished and out of the way!!  I admit to going a bit overboard with the 'ageing' but I like that very aged look so gave it a good squirt.  I added a rusty pin and some tiny old buttons and some trim to complete the look and it now looks as though it has been around for years and years.  It is really quite small only measuring 4 1/2  x 2 1/2 inches.  Oh, and I forgot to mention, it is Blackbird Designs Basket of Memories.

I have also recently completed a few mini albums and I am really enjoying learning how to make these. The photo below  is one I have made recently and added some tiny photos of my son's wedding. I have more I have made but will leave those for another day.

So you see, I have been creating and have spread my wings a little and tried to learn something new and I am really enjoying to process.

My shadow, Ben, still loves to be with me while I play in my craft room.  He is great company and I run things past him so he can give me his expert opinion :)) I tell him everything I am doing and he usually agrees with me.  He is becoming a little whiter around his beautiful face these days and will be turning seven years old this April.  Can you wait here while I just go outside and see if I can take a photo of him....he hasn't had a photo here in a while....
I'm he is....still as handsome as ever.  I love that boy!!

Okay, well that is about it for me for this post.  If anyone is still out there (after all this time) thanks so much for visiting us and from  "Just Me and My Shadow"....signing out!!!

  1. I love both your finishes, Chrissie! The books are something I greatly admire but will probably never make because I know that mine would look very amateurish. Yours is gorgeous! Ben is quite the handsome fellow!

  2. Hello My Dear Friend - I certainly do remember you all the time.
Love your little pillow - is that chenille trim??
I am lucky enough to have seen more of your little book and it is just amazing - I hope to see it in real life one day.
Hello Ben - you gorgeous boy.
Good to see you both back on line.

  3. It's so nice to see a post from you!!!! Gorgeous finish and your puppy is so sweet :-).
