~ Bush Fires In Victoria ~

Our nation grieves today for the people of Victoria and the tragic loss of lives, homes and animals the bushfires have caused. So far 106 lives and 750 homes. It is beyond belief and our Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd has said 'hell's fury has been unleashed on Victoria'. I am just at a loss for words to convey the devastation these fires have caused. Our nation grieves for Victoria and please keep these people in your thoughts and prayers.

  1. Hi Chrissie, Everytime the news comes on . . . the update is far worse. Such a sad story and awful outcome for so many in and around Victoria.

This story is first on the news here in Canada. It is definitely heard around the world. So sorry for your Aussie neighbours. Karen

  2. Fire is terrifying. I'm sorry to hear about the bushfires - they are very much on the news here in Canada. Let us hope and pray that some relief comes soon. Take care.

  3. Thanks, Chrissie. It's so devastating that my fellow Victorians have gone through this tragic event. Although I have been fortunate not to live in these fire ravaged areas, my heart is still sad. All of Australia will pull together and help to rebuild the lives of the people who survived this.

  5. Chrissie, thank you for sharing this devastating news. The world grieves with Victoria and Australia. My prayers for all the people who's lives have been affected. Is there anything you know of where we can help, such as a burn center?

  6. My thoughts are with those people who have lost loved ones, their homes or their pets during this dreadful time. Also the hundreds and thousands of farm and wild animals which have been injured or died. God bless the firefighters and curse those people who started some of the fires deliberately.

  7. The tragedy has made news all over. I'm in Ireland & I called my mother in the US today and that was one of the first things we talked about. Our prayers go out to everybody touched by the fires.

We have been watching the news with great sadness.... your entire country has our prayers - I can't imagine. Thanks for the note on my blog - I think the pic (at least one) is working today. May I add you to my blog roll? I think I'm finally getting the hang of this posting stuff.... pitiful, I know!

  10. Daer Chrissie and Ben, Just dropping in to say Hi and see how those cross stitches are going. Yes, you have indeed been in my thoughts with the terrible fires in your lovely country. My heart also goes out to all the wildlife that has been destroyed. This afternoon I am going to see the movie: Australia and that will make me think of you even more!
